In this tutorial, I’m going to show you how I achieved this simple, medium-coverage makeup look using only drugstore products. Beginning with a clean, moisturized face, I’m applying color correctors to any areas of hyperpigmentation.
The yellow corrector helps neutralize the purple pigments under my eyes, and the green corrector neutralizes the red pigments on my cheeks. I personally prefer to use my fingers to blend out the color corrector, but you could also use a brush or damp beauty sponge.
If you’re using your fingers, just make sure they’re clean! Using the dropper, I’m applying foundation straight onto my cheeks. Then I’m using a damp beauty sponge and blending it up and out. This particular foundation has buildable coverage, so I usually start with a little and add more to the areas that need it.
I also try to be light-handed around my nose because I like when my freckles peek through. Now I’m going to apply a bit of concealer under my eyes and blend it out with my beauty sponge. This concealer is pretty full coverage, so a little goes a long way.
Next I’m going to take some loose powder and apply it with a powder brush. My cheeks have been pretty dry lately, so I’m going to focus the powder on my T-zone. I’m also dusting it over the under eye concealer to set it.
For blush I’m using this beautiful warm pink shade. Blush, like contour, can completely change the shape of your face depending on the placement. I’m placing my blush just beneath my cheekbones and blending it up and out.
This will help sculpt my face a little bit, since I don’t contour or wear bronzer. Moving on to brows. I typically only use two products – a brow pencil and a tinted brow gel. I personally prefer to keep my brows looking natural, so I don’t spend too much time sculpting them.
First thing I do is fill in the sparse areas with a brow pencil, and Before I apply mascara, I’m quickly curling my lashes. Then I’m brushing on a coat of mascara. You can apply as many coats as you’d like; I usually just apply one.
I’m going to finish this look off with a bright lip. I’m using this lip crayon from Maybelline. 0:03:15.095,1193:02:47.295 then I finish it off with a tinted brow gel to keep the hairs in place. And finally, I’m putting my glasses back on to check my work.
That’s probably the hardest thing about not wearing contacts — I’m basically doing my makeup blindly and hoping it comes out okay! And here’s the final look…
